Jeff Walker has literally transformed the way stuff is sold online. Along the way he’s become one of the top entrepreneurial and marketing trainers in the world. But it didn’t start out that way…

When Jeff started his first online business, he was a stay-at-home dad taking care of two small children. The “business” was launched from the baby’s changing room – and it started with a free email newsletter sent to 19 people. That was in the Internet Dark Ages of 1996.

In this book, Jeff Walker really does his best to explain why and how marketers need to start their internet business with speed, developing a conversation in their niche market and collecting feedback and even pre-sales just before the product is even created.

This book also describes the “old school” technique of starting a business incrementally, coming out with a product after 36 months working secretly in a downstairs room, hoping and expecting it to be sold, and explains the reason why this method has been unsuccessful time and time again.

 What makes this book good:

First of all, the writer appears to really know what he is referring to. It seems that just about every successful business author or trainer has learned from Jeff Walker’s launch strategies and he uses lots of case studies from them, and also other learners which are not in the “business” niche, to back up every chapter.
You will be glad to read page after page of actual step-by-step advice backed up with real-life good examples. The author also offers “swipe copy” (examples of email and sales scripts that you can use in your own product launch).

Talking about providing extra content material, this book as well recommends a lot of supplemental cost-free resources. From ranking the top software to use on your launch, to sharing case study and extra “how-to” video modules, the writer has certainly an objective of making this a complete, comprehensive training course, and not simply a book-form advertisement for his services ( because a many “Internet experts” often write their books as sales letters for their other programs. “Launch” is not really one of those and it’s refreshing)

The structure of this book moves very fluidly, the content continues to be engineered in order to generate questions progressively and then answer them. At the same time, this is a really down-to-earth book. You will not feel that the author is talking down to you using a lot of marketing slang. Neither will this be usual, “only numbers matter, obtain the sale at all costs” marketing book.
To the contrary, the case the author makes from the first to the last page of the book is that you can both get a ton of sales, AND contribute a lot of value even to your non-buyers. And in the meantime, get yourself a great satisfying lifestyle. While I did find the tactics and tricks of a Product Launch (Chapters 6 through 10) mind-boggling, for me personally the actual orgasm from the book was Chapter 13 – the one about the life you may build from those launches, concluding with the story of the guy which built his business to allow him to dance all over the world with his girlfriend.
